This was our first demonstration of using Illustrator, and tasked with finding a simple tutorial and following along. I found a "Blend tool" tutorial and shared it with the rest of class, as well as then used other peer's examples to practice myself. | A tutorial I followed that was provided by a peer. I really liked this tutorial, and hope to incorporate it more in my career. |

This tutorial was also fun to follow along and try to replicate.
Type Tutorial! I wish this was the one I submitted first, but due to lack of reading (and misunderstanding) I retracted this from my initial submission. I was able to resubmit using this one though, but hope I made the "troll foot" proud :) .
Type Tutorial! This was the one I submitted (hastily done of course), since I re-read the instructions on the last hour of submission. Turned out not too bad for rushed work. | Photoshop Project: This was a fun introduction to using photoshop to combine a couple of images into a sleek titlecard, wallpaper, or something similar. |
Photoshop project: "Dream Like World" I actually learned a few things from this one, like some new blending techniques I hadn't incorporated into my works before. | Photoshop project: Movie Mash Up - "The Lightmouse" This was by far my favorite project to have done. Asked a friend for an idea, and I rolled with it! Although the main referenced poster was black and white, it was a challenge to make sure I got the balance just right while sampling as much as I could from dated media. |
Creative Resume: This project allowed me to combine both my Photoshop and Illustrator skills to take my resume and go designer-wild on it. Honestly.. I had done something like this in my early years as a designer, before I got any type of formal design training. Inspired by one of my favorite graphic novels, there is a chance I may use this in the future of career prospects. | Animated GIF Project: I haven't designed a GIF in a while, let alone strictly in Photoshop, but I did pick up on some new techniques these newer version s provide. Looking forward to applying these techniques with further designs. |

BACK TO ACADEMIA! My first formal graphic design class in almost a decade.. maybe even more than that.
I took this Intro to Digital Media course at Northwest Vista and was technically my first formal class in graphic design. I've amassed my skills from doing online tutorials and taking on clients and projects that demanded I did a lot of research, and personal homework. While the challenge was fun, I had always wanted to learn from a "sensai", or someone in the know of the business. I am grateful for this new opportunity in life, and for these resources available to me :)
